Kai Meyer is the author of many highly acclaimed and popular books for adults and young adults in his native Germany. He wrote his first book The Water Mirror when he was just twenty, and it was published later when he was just twenty-four. He has been a full-time novelist since 1995. The first book in his Dark Reflections Triology, The Water Mirror, was a School Library Journal Best Book, a Book Sense Pick, and a Locus Magazine Reccommended Read. It also received starred reviews in School Library Journal and Publishers Weekly, and has been translated into sixteen languages.
To date, Kai Meyer has written over fifty books, some of which are for the younger audience, while others are for mature eyes only. Mr. Meyer preferes to use historical subjects as a basis for his books, but combines the elements of fantasy and conspiracy as a twist. The Water Mirror was printed three times in the US before it was finally delivered to bookstores, and his fantasy series The Sieben Siegel became a number one bestseller in Japan. First printed as The Flowing Queen all across Europe, the US version The Water Mirror won the 2007 Marsh Award for Best Children's Book in Translation.
He is also the author of The Wave Walkers.
Kai Meyer currently lives in Westphalia, Germany.
