Sara Shepard graduated from Downingtown West High School in Downingtown Pennsylvania in 1995. She then went on to New York University for her undergraduate degree and received an MFA from Brooklyn College.
Sara Shepard is best known for her Pretty Little Liars series. They were inspired by her upbringing in Philadelphia's Main Line. These books chronicle the exploits of four teenage girls as a mysterious stalker known as "A" threatens to reveal their darkest secrets. In December 2010 Sara Shepard announced she would write an additional four books in the series bringing it to a total of 12 books. This series is also a hit television show starring Shay Mitchell (as Emily Fields), Lucy Hale (as Aria Montgomery), Ashely Benson (as Hanna Marin), and Troian Bellisario (as Spencer Hastings).
Publisher's weekly called her first novel tightly constructed and captivating... complicated, rewarding and full of heart. Her new books series "Lying Games" are also turning into a big hit. She has also starred on the television show Pretty Little Liars as "Ms Shepard" on Episode 7 Season 1 "The Homecoming Hangover".
