“Joseph Campbell is my hero with a thousand stories...I have found it more useful to get introduced to the subject that Joe talks about first before touching any of the corner-stone works of his in this field. During his talks with Bill Moyers, Campbell has put emphasis on the importance of "proper introduction" of the subject. And I suppose, this becomes even more relevant for someone who is not directly "educated" in or related to the field of philology, theosophy or matters of that kind.My recommendation would be to begin by having the feel of the subject through peripheral and introductory books such as "Myths to Live By" and have a rather entertained initiation...All the best,”
