Hague was born in Los Angeles in 1948. While he was growing up, his mother nurtured his artistic talent and love of books. He graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, and now lives in a pink house in Colorado, with one cat, three large dogs, and a car that drives in the snow.
