Henry Rollins was born Henry Lawrence Garfield in Washington D.C., USA, on February 13, 1961. He is a singer-songwriter, spoken-word artist, radio DJ, writer, actor, and activist. He was the frontman of Californian punk band Black Flag between 1981 and 1986. After the band split up, he created his publishing company/record label, 2.13.61, in order to release his spoken word CDs. He went on to forming the Rollins band. The band played and toured until 2003, and then again some in 2006.

Henry Rollins likes to keep busy. He has been the host of several radio shows and starred in television shows: Harmony In My Head on Indie 103, The Henry Rollins Show on IFC, MTV's 120 Minutes, and Jackass. He also acted in numerous movies. He currently plays a part on Sons of Anarchy, a TV show on FX, and is the DJ of a two-hour weekly radio show on KCRW.

Henry Rollins has also campaigned for Human Rights in the United States, promoting gay rights in particular, and regularly tours overseas with the United Service Organizations to entertain American troops.

He will be soon touring around the world with his new spoken word show "Frequent Flyer".
