P.G. Wodehouse was born on October 15, 1881 in Guildford, England. He went to Dulwich College and entered the employment of the Hong Kong & Shanghai bank.
He began writing articles for different newspapers later on and then resigned from his work at that bank. During this time, P.G. Wodehouse's first novel was published (The Pothunters). In April of 1904 he arrived in New York (the first time he had ever been to the US). This would be the start of his career doing musicals. P.G. Wodehouse wrote many successful novels and musicals in the US.
In 1929 he signed a contract and began working as a screenwriter in Hollywood.
Three years later he returns to England for a while and then goes to France.
Now, Wodehouse was making a series of radio broadcasts, but they were misconstrued, he was persecuted by the BBC. Wodehouse was innocent of the accusations that were laid on him. Once again, Wodehouse went back to the US and became a US citizen. In the year 1974, PG Wodehouse published his last novel (Aunts Aren't Gentlemen). A year later he was knighted by England's own queen. During this time, Wodehouse's health was very poor and he died on February 14th, 1975 in a hospital. He was writing another novel that day.
