Anne Rice (born Howard Allen O'Brien) is a best-selling American author of gothic, erotic, and religious-themed books from New Orleans, Louisiana. Her books have sold nearly 100 million copies, making her one of the most widely read authors in modern history. Her books include The Vampire Chronicles, Lives of the Mayfair Witches and various independent works. She has also written using two pseudonyms: A.N. Roquelaure and Anne Rampling. Her husband Stan was a poet and artist that Anne met in college. Ms. Rice and her husband Stan had a son, Christopher. Christopher is also a published author.
