Overview edit see section history

Carrie has loved books forever. Her earliest childhood memories include snuggling with her Cocker Spaniel while her mother read a bedtime story. She treasured the cozy, all-is-right-with-the-world feeling of those special times.

During her formative years, she stuck with the tried and true: high school, college, marriage, children. That changed when she left her job as a claims adjuster to stay home with her young children. Like many authors, she started writing romance novels while her children napped. Carrie attended her first writers’ conference in 1994 and knew she’d found her calling.

She joined Romance Writers of American in 1995 and sold her first novel in 1999 to Kensington Publishing. Carrie began writing for the Harlequin Superromance line in 2003 and branched out to include two Harlequin NASCAR books scheduled for 2007.

Readers and reviewers alike praise her books for their emotional depth and realistic characters. “...Each page comes alive with joy and sadness,” says reviewer Pat Wilson, Rendezvous Magazine (May 2005). THE SECOND SISTER was nominated for the RT Bookclub Reviewers’ Choice Award in 2005 and THE SECRET WIFE received a prestigious RITA Award nomination and Bookseller’s Best nomination in 2006.

Reading still provides an anchor for Carrie when life gets crazy. With two boys, two dogs, three cats and several fish, her life does frequently get chaotic. But she’s found chocolate and a good book can make any problem seem more manageable.
