JOSEPH H. BOYETT, Ph.D. is co-founder of Boyett & Associates (http:www.jboyett.com), a consulting and research firm specializing in helping companies and governmental agencies understand and implement state-of-the art leadership and organizational practices. Also, he writes The Attack Democrat blog featuring commentary on recent political developments from a liberal/progressive point of view. He brings a unique perspective on political and governmental issues based on his academic training, experience working in Washington with governmental agencies charged with implementing public policy, and his years of experience in the private sector helping major companies meet the challenges of operating profitable under difficult economic conditions with strong international competition. Dr. Boyett is the author of sixteen other books on politics, leadership and business management including Won't Get Fooled Again: A Voter's Guide to Seeing Through the Lies, Getting Past the Propaganda, and Choosing the Best Leaders (AMACOM), Workplace 2000 (Penguin Group/Dutton), Beyond Workplace 2000 (Penguin Group/Dutton), The Guru Guide(tm) (John Wiley & Sons), The Guru Guide(tm) to Entrepreneurship (John Wiley & Sons), The Guru Guide(tm) to the Knowledge Economy (John Wiley & Sons), and The Guru Guide(tm) to Marketing (John Wiley & Sons). His books have been translated into more than a dozen languages.In addition to his many books, Dr. Boyett has written numerous articles on innovative leadership and management practices for such publications as Working Woman, National Productivity Review, National Productivity Report, Communications Briefings, Employee Benefit News, Boardroom Reports, Behavioral Sciences Newsletter, Personnel Report for the Executive, Quality and Productivity Management Association Update, and Progressive Grocer. He also wrote a regular feature article on management for Entrepreneur Magazine for nearly three years. New American Library/Plume published a collection of these articles as The Competitive Edge: Essential Business Skills for Entrepreneurs. Dr. Boyett has been a consultant to a number of Fortune 500 companies including IBM, British Petroleum, Merck, EDS, and Sara Lee on innovative management and leadership practices.He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Georgia and is a member of the American Political Science Association, Author's Guild and the American Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA).
