Michelle Harrison is 31 years old and works as an editorial assistant for a children's publisher. Prior to being published she has had many jobs, including working in bars, in a bakery, in an art gallery, and as a children's bookseller.
Originally from Essex, she now lives in Oxfordshire. As well as being an author she is also an artist, and has a degree in Illustration.
Her first novel, The 13 Treasures, won the Waterstone's Children's Book Prize and has been nominated for several other awards. Her books have so far been sold in fifteen countries including the UK, USA and Germany.
