Margaret has made up stories in her head for as long as she can remember – she put herself to sleep at night when she was young by rewriting the plots and endings of books she’d read. Margaret assumed this was normal and everyone else did the same thing until she began getting weird looks when she talked about it. It wasn’t until she joined Romance Writers of America years later that she realized it didn’t mean she was weird – it meant she was a writer. When Margaret was twelve she decided she wanted to write books when she grew up, but got sidetracked by her love of animals and the need for a ‘real’ job, so she became a veterinarian instead. Eighteen years ago, when she realized she was now making up stories about clients and their pets, she decided to try putting them down on paper. Her first effort, which she still has in her office, was bad enough to make her squirm when she re-reads it now, but she did learn one thing from that first manuscript – that making up stories is what she wanted to do. Her first book was PERSONAL BEST, published by Meteor Publishing Company in June 1991 for their Kismet line. After writing thirteen books for Silhouette Intimate Moments, shes now writing Harlequin Superromances.
