Robin Preiss Glasser was a soloist with the Pennsylvania Ballet for eleven years. In addition, Ms. Glasser has designed theater sets, costumes, playbills, and posters, and has illustrated more than a dozen children's books, including Alexander, Who's Not (Do You Hear Me? I Mean It!) Going to Move, and Super-Completely and Totally the Messiest, both by Judith Viorst. Ms. Glasser has also collaborated with her sister, Jacqueline Preiss Weitzman, on the award-winning You Can't Take a Balloon series.

"While working on this book I was constantly reminded of how lucky I am, a daughter of immigrants, to live freely, work, and raise my children in America," says Ms. Glasser.

Robin Preiss Glasser lives in Newport Beach, California, with her two children, Benjamin and Sasha, who are pictured with her above.
