Scott Westerfeld was born on May 5, 1963 in Dallas,Texas. The way he found his passion for writing books started out with him writing songs.
When he found his love for writing he started out as a writer for R.L. Stine's series Goosebumps then started writing his own books. The first book he ever wrote solo was Polymorph (1997), then Fine Prey (1998), then Evolutions Darling (2000). He got engaged and then married to Australian Author Justine Larbalestier.
