Demi is an award-winning illustrator of more than 130 books for children, including The Empty Pot, Liang and the Magic Paint Brush, and The Nightingale, a New York Times Best Book of the Year.

Born Catherine Dumaresq Hunt to William Morris and Rosamond (Pier) Hunt. Her father was an architect, actor, and entrepreneur, and her mother was an artist.

Her gold-leaf paintings and mosaics not only appear in books, but also in the dome of St. Peter and Paul's Church in Wilmington, California. Demi lives with her husband in Carnation, Washington.--from book jacket
