A Necessary End and The Hanging Valley, both Inspector Banks novels, followed in 1989, and the latter was nominated for an Arthur Ellis Award. Both received starred reviews in Publishers Weekly in the US.Peter Robinson is the author of the excellent Inspector Banks books - a must read for detective and police procedural novels.  Now living in Toronto, Robinson gives his books a twist of flavour, setting them in Yorkshire and peppering his story with cultural references, especially musical.
