Since leaving the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme in 2010, Jason Letts has been developing a career as an author of young-adult fiction. Every one of his stories has utilized some small part of his experience in Japan. Having that kind of familiarity with another culture has done a lot to give his work a more diverse, globalized perspective. He also got his start writing fiction while he was still on JET. It was a great way to spend quiet work nights and get out those little frustrations in a productive way.
Now he writes young-adult fiction in a variety of its sub-genres and is lucky enough to do this for a living.
