“Thanks for the comment about Whale Song and book clubs. I've been very lucky to attend some book club meetings where Whale Song was the book of choice. It's so interesting to meet people and discuss my novels. I learn so much from it...and of course the book club munchies are the best. :)I do have a book club discussion guide available on my website for clubs that select Whale Song for their read.http://www.whalesongbook.com”
“Hi Amanda:Thank you for the question. Sorry it took me so long to get back here.I've wanted to be a writer ever since I was quite young. I remember reading my Dr. Seuss books and scribbling lines under the text, before I even knew how to write. My mother was horrified and asked me what I was doing. I told her I was "writing the story".At 16 I wrote my first novel, Beckoning Wrath. It was stolen. In my early 20s I completed my next novel, Scavenger Hunt. I was just looking at it two days ago and thinking, "Hmmm...maybe it's time to give it some life and reworking." :)I think I wanted to be a writer because as an avid book lover I knew how great it was to read someone's words and 'feel' something. Stephen King and Dean Koontz inspired a lot of nightmares, but I wouldn't have traded them for anything. It's a great feeling to know that now my work is inspiring or scaring someone else. ;-)Cheryl”
“Whale Song is a great book club selection. Provokes discussion around death, family , and personal beliefs.”
“Hi Cheryl! When did you decide you wanted to be a writer? And, why?”
