First, let me elaborate a bit about myself. My ‘bio’ as they say!
My name is Sharon Lathan….honest! No pen-names for me! I suppose if an encyclopedia photo was needed for the ‘average American woman,’ mine would be appropriate. I am a native Californian, living currently amongst the orchards, cotton, corn, and cows of the sunny and hot San Joaquin Valley. Average middle-class upbringing, average family life as a child, average education, and so on. No grand dreams or aspirations other than to be a wife, mother, and nurse; all of which I am blessed to say came true!
I am married to my own version of Mr. Darcy and have been for nearly 24 years. Typical ups and downs, but I am delighted to say that we are yet in love and anticipating the joy of old age together. Well, perhaps not too thrilled over the old age part, but you get the idea. God has blessed us with two beautiful, healthy children. Our daughter is in college and our son in high school. Throw in a cat, a dog, a gecko, and ton of fish to complete the image.
By profession I am the Registered Nurse I first dreamed of becoming when I was nine. For the bulk of my 25 year career I have specialized in Neonatal Intensive Care. I adore the tiny babies and thrill at the excitement of high adrenaline in this incredibly rewarding field. After my family and now my writing, it is my greatest passion.
When not at the hospital or attending to the ofttimes dreary tasks of homemaking, I am generally found reposing in my comfy recliner with faithful laptop adhered to my thighs! Yes, it has become an obsession, but more on that later. In truth, I somehow find the time to read books written by other folks, see the occasional movie, keep up on my favorite TV shows, teach preschoolers at our church, and enjoy the life gifted to me. See, average!
