Though born in Utah, I moved to Arizona at the age of 2, and grew up to be a died-in-the-fur Desert Rat. (110 degrees? A little toasty. 117? Utah isn't looking quite so bad right now!)
I first fell in love with the Middle Ages when I read Thomas B. Costain's, "The Conquering Family" in high school. I continued to feed my love for history by attending the University of Arizona, where I graduated with a degree specializing in medieval history, while writing my first (still unpublished) medieval novel.
Along with my love of writing and the Middle Ages, I also have a deep love of music. I have taught piano lessons to children and adults of all ages for over 20 years. I love to play the piano and sing for my own amusement. My voice is nothing to brag about, but I have a "blendable" voice that fits well into my church choir. Some of my other interests include reading both fiction and non-fiction (check out my Shelfari shelf for some, but not all, of my favorite titles and authors), spending time with my sister, trying out new restaurants, and unfortunately, buying new clothes.
I have been owned and loved by many cats, the most recent being Clio (who helps me with my website), and Glinka Rimsky-Korsokov (that's all one cat).
I love chocolate chip cookies, Hershey Kisses with almonds (because if they've got nuts, they're good for you), and Orville Redenbacher's Movie Theater Popcorn with a video/DVD or TV on Sunday nights.
Loyalty's Web is my first published novel. As described above under "genre", it's a kind of mystery/adventure/sweet romance story set--where else?--in the Middle Ages. Kaye Trout's Midwest Book Review describes Loyalty's Web as "an historical tale of intrigue with multiple twists and turns, arranged marriages and true romance. It is a fast-paced, well-written, well-edited, fascinating read."
Loyalty's Web is being re-issued by Leatherwood Press in August 2008 with brand new cover art. I've had a peek at it, and I can hardly wait to share it with you! As soon as I get the green light, I will post it right here on this site, so keep checking back, okay?
