J. Randy Taraborrelli is the author of 15 books, including his most recent New York Times’ bestseller, "Elizabeth," the critically-hailed biography of Elizabeth Taylor. It was his fastest rising bestseller, debuting on the prestigious New York Times list at #8. Other books include his recent biography of "Diana Ross," (his third on that subject) and “Once Upon a Time - Behind the Fairytale of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier," a Los Angeles Times’ best seller. His preceding work, “Madonna - An Intimate Biography” was a massive bestseller in countries around the world — translated into more than 30 languages. It remained on the London Times’ bestseller list for an astonishing six months and was nominated for the prestigious W.H. Smith Award in England. The book was also a New York Times bestseller in the USA.
J. Randy is also the author of “Jackie, Ethel, Joan - Women of Camelot”, another New York Times bestseller for him in hard cover and paperback, as well as a highly-rated miniseries for NBC-TV starring Jill Hennesey as Jackie Kennedy and Lauren Holly as Ethel Kennedy. Moreover, he is the author of “Michael Jackson - The Magic and the Madness” (also nominated for a W.H. Smith award in England) as well as “Call Her Miss Ross," both New York Times bestsellers. He has also written critically-praised biographies about Frank Sinatra, Carol Burnett and Cher, as well as a pictorial history of Motown Records. J. Randy’s next book for Grand Central Publishing (formerly Warner Books), is "The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe," to be published in 2009. He is also the author of the newly updated, "Michael Jackson - The Magic, The Madness, The Whole Story," also published in 2009.
Not only is J. Randy Taraborrelli a respected journalist, he is a recognizable entertainment personality and in-demand guest on many television programs, including Today, Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, Larry King - Live, Entertainment Tonight, The Insider and CNN - Headline News. Additionally, he is a news analyst for CBS News and his six-months-plus coverage of the Michael Jackson molestation trial in Santa Maria for that network was widely praised. (He was the only CBS News TV reporter in the court room for the verdict).

Besides writing, J. Randy’s other passion is martial arts. Presently, he is training in American Tang Soo Do as well as MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), XMA (Extreme Martial Arts) and weaponry.
