P.W. Catanese is the author of acclaimed fantasy-adventures for readers age 9 and up. The P.W. stands for Paul William. His novels include Happenstance Found (The Books of Umber 1), Dragon Games (The Books of Umber 2), The Thief and the Beanstalk, The Eye of the Warlock and The Mirror's Tale. In its starred review of Happenstance Found, Publishers Weekly said: “Catanese dazzles in the first of the Books of Umber… An auspicious start to the series.” His Books of Umber series is available as audio books from Recorded Books, and his books have been translated into multiple foreign languages. Paul lives in Connecticut, and has traveled to classrooms around the United States to speak about writing and his novels.
