Overview edit see section history

Dorothy Wall is a New Zealand born author and illustrator of children's fiction books. She is most well known for her creation of Blinky Bill.
In 1985, Australia Post issued a postage stamp to honour Wall and her creation, Blinky Bill. The stamp is part of a set of five, commemorating children's books. Wall spent much of her life in Australia, where she had a love of the sunshine and the 'beautiful gum trees and the hard old stones and shrubs of the bush'. She faced many difficulties throughout her life including depression, failing health, and financial difficulties (despite Blinky Bill's popularity).
