Shyam Selvadurai was born in 1965 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. A graduate of York University in Canada, his first novel, Funny Boy, was awarded the Lambda Literary Award in addition to being named a Notable Book by the American Library Association. He has been published in seven countries. Selvadurai lives in Toronto, Canada.
