Jazz freelance writer and author of many biographies of jazz musicians and singers. Born in Fall River, MA, she graduated in creative writing at Columbia University in 1960.In 1991, she received the Deems Taylor Award of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers for a series of seven articles about female jazz musicians in JazzTimes. Died in New York at the age of 65.
