Jane S. Fancher is a science fiction and fantasy author and artist. In the early 1980s she worked for Warp Graphics as an art assistant on Elfquest, providing inking assistance on the black and white comics and coloring on Books 2 and 3 of the original graphic novel reprints.
She was also the creator of the graphic novel adaptation of C. J. Cherryh's Gate of Ivrel. Later Fancher expanded the material in color for professional publication as a series of graphic novels. Although the series was cut short halfway through the story, this led to a close friendship and professional collaboration, as well as Jane becoming an author herself.
