Overview edit see section history

Eugene Ionesco is the greatest Romanian export when it comes to literature. He is one of the founding fathers of absurd theater and although born in Romania he has only published one piece in the language, the famous "NU", then moved to Paris and only published in french.
He has not forgotten the language though since it was spoken in his home and his daughter knows it.
His literature is influenced by the absurdity of communism and can be linked to that of Camus, Sartre but most of all Samuel Becket.
