Kathryn has been serving as a priest at St. John’s since 2003. She earned her BA from Wesleyan University in Romance Languages and Literatures, and her MDiv (1988), STM (1989), and PhD (1994) from Yale University. 

Before she became a Priest in the Episcopal Church, Kathryn served as a Pastor in the United Church of Christ at parishes in Haddam Neck and North Haven. After finishing seminary at Yale Divinity, she served at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Oxford, CT. During college, she worked as a Pastry Chef, teacher of French and Spanish, and as a Student Intern at Wesleyan University Chapel. She was born and raised in Weston, CT. 

Kathryn has published over 50 articles and reviews, as well as the following books: Ad Litteram: How Augustine, Calvin, and Barth read Genesis 1-3 (Peter Lang: 1999); Feminist Reconstructions of Christian Doctrine (Oxford: 2000); Theological Exegesis (co-editor: Eerdmans: 2000); and Darkness is my Only Companion (Brazos: 2006).
 
 
Kathryn and Matthew have been married since 1984, and are the proud parents of Noah and Grace. When she’s not at St. John’s, you’re likely to spot Kathryn at the Yale Divinity Library, the Sterling Memorial Library, or shopping downtown at 10,000 Villages!
