Chris Anderson is editor in chief of Wired Magazine, and is most widely quoted for his work "The Long Tail", in which he describes the opportunity found when businesses serve customers needs outside of the most popular requests.  This anti-mass-merchandizing missive began as an article in wired magazine, and the book shortly followed. 
He is also the Curator of the TED conference
