“My sister's keeper for sure! i like the way her words wrap you up in the book, you can feel how sincere and true her feelings are when writing. one thing i love about her is how she shows examples to prove to you a point she wants you to get. so uses examples from real life and show you the conclusion she's meaning to write about. it's convincing, real and you can't stop thinking about the book once you've finished reading!”
“I love Jodi Picoult shes a great author! My favourite book would have to be Salem Falls... for anyone that is just getting into this author I recommend this one. The law case runs parallel with the main characters personal life to successfully uphold the reader's attention throughout the book. This book also got me into toxicology! My Sister's Keeper was the first book i read and this one is also brilliant... annoying that they've made a movie though - I much prefer the books.”
“I have read 5 of Jody Picoult's books and will not read another. She writes well and that's what draws you in, and her stories are interesting to a point - but they are indeed manipulative. She pulls the conclusion out of the air, wraps up the story line in unbelievable ways. It's nice to find out I'm not the only one who is disappointed with this author.”
“The first book I read of her's was "The Pact". It got me hooked. I have since read every one of her books and eagerly await a new one each March. I have recently started re-reading some of them. I just finished "Second Glance" and was just as enthralled this time as I was the first. I do have to say that my favorite is "My Sister's Keeper". It is supposed to be out as a movie soon. I just hope they do not ruin it like they did "The Pact" when they made it into a movie. Her books are great - don't mess with perfection!”
“I have read, and own, all of her books - my favourites are My Sister's Keeper and Songs of the Humpback Whale - and am eagerly awaiting her new novel, Handle With Care. She is an absolute master and her books are always a brilliant blend of the legal and mysterious, and the intensely emotional. I have an entire shelf of Picoults and its always a joy to browse through and reminisce. Thank God there are still authors who can write books that make you feel!”
“I read Plain Truth and saw the answer within about one hundred pages. I tried to read My Sister's Keeper on the recommendation of a friend but couldn't finish it...too bored. I find her books to be deliberately provocative and also shallow and manipulative. I put her in the same category as Nicholas Sparks: formulaic and predictable, more bent on selling books than truly great writing. I'll never read anything else by her.”
“My Sisters Keeper was also my first, and have been hooked since. Her mind is amazing. I don't know how she comes up with these stories. Just finished 19 minutes and loved every word!”
“I've read all of her books, and I'm actually basing a project off her book My Sisters Keeper now...”
“She is my all time favorite. The fist book I read by her was My Sisters Keeper. I have been hooked ever since. I would love to meet her one day”
“I have only read Vanishing Act and 19 Minutes, but they both had such resonance. I felt that both books had a way of making one look at all sides of an issue, placing no judgement on any, letting the reader feel it all and figure it out for themselves.”
“A Change of Heart is the first book I have read by this Author and I absolutely loved it! She actually made you feel compassion and conraderie for the men in the prison, making yoiu question whose side you were on in the book, but felt that was a good thing. Her characters are so "real" and her settings so vivid one can picture themselves "there". Claire was a very brave girl, her Mom at times was not alsways realistic in my opinion. Maggie was wonderful!”
“My all-time favorite fiction author. I just finished the last of her books - I've read every last one now. I hope she has a new one coming out pretty soon!Does anyone have recommendations for other books/authors based on my love for Jodi Picoult books??”
“She is one of my favorite authors. I enjoyed reading her website too.”
