James Maxwell was born in 1980 in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand, an area known for its astonishing beauty. He spent his formative years wandering through groves of majestic trees, exploring remote waterfalls and following ancient riverbeds.
James Maxwell was educated at the University of Queensland in Australia, where he studied engineering, computer science, philosophy, psychology, English and economics, before dropping out and founding a successful software company.
In 2005, James Maxwell left Australia to see the world. He has since found inspiration in over forty countries in six continents, finally settling in the United Kingdom.
James Maxwell lives in Highbury, North London, with his wife Alicia, where he enjoys walking, wine and classical French cooking, when he isn’t on one of his frequent expeditions worldwide.
James Maxwell completed his Amazon best-selling epic fantasy novel, Enchantress, in 2012.
