J. Frederick George (edit name/settings)

George Frederick Jewsbury has co-authored two novels with his nephew, Neal Stephenson. Originally, they published "Interface" and "The Cobweb" under the combined pseudonym Stephen Bury. When the books were republished with Stephenson's real name, his co-author, Jewsbury, switched to the pseudonym J. Frederick George. Under his own name, Jewsbury authored the book "Russian Annexation of Bessarabia, 1774-1828" and has collaborated on the multi-volume world history series, Civilization: Past & Present. He teaches history in France: le Centre des Etudes Russe, Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales.
