Jigyasa Giri - author, publisher & danseuse.
A lover of traditional arts and culture, Jigyasa rose to fame with her international bestseller "Cooking at home with Pedatha". She identified the invaluable traditional recipes that existed in the family and decided to preserve them for posterity in this book. Authored along with Pratibha Jain, it has received rave reviews for design, content & photography and was awarded the "Best Vegetarian Cookbook in the World 2006".
Not wanting to compromise on the quality and design of their books, Jigyasa & Pratibha chose the option of self-publishing by starting their own publishing house - Pritya. In December 2008, they published "Sukham Ayu", an excellent Ayurvedic cookbook showcasing recipes & insights based on the ancient Ayurvedic texts. It won the Gourmand award for "Best Health & Nutrition book in the World - Second Place".
A Gujarati by birth, Jigyasa resides in Chennai, India. She is married to V.V. Giri, grandson of former Indian President Bharat Ratna Dr. V.V. Giri. Visit her at her books site http://pritya.com & her dance site http://devaniya.com.
