Dr. Christopher R. Gabel is an associate professor at the Combat Studies Institute, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College,
Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. We received his bachelor’s degree at The Pennsylvania State University and earned M.A. and Ph.D. degrees
in history at The Ohio State University. Nis graduate studies focused on the doctrine of the U.S. Army in the interwar and World War II periods. He is the author of a CSI special study, The Lorraine Campaign: An Overview, September-December I944 (February 1985) and
Leavenworth Paper No. 12, Seek, Strike, and Destroy: U.S. Army Tank Destroyer Doctrine in World War II (September 1985).
