He is a minister and a retired elementary school principal. Both vocations helped him develop the habit of "looking at things sideways" to see the humor in any given situation. He holds a Bachelor's of Science in History and Religion and a Master of Educational Administration degree. He lives in Wooster, Ohio with his wife Darlene and their black lab, Alex and cat, Sooty. He has five children and is also a proud grandfather.
