National bestselling author Juliet Blackwell (aka Julie Goodson-Lawes, aka Hailey Lind) started out life in Palo Alto, California, borne of a Texan mother and a Yankee father.
Julie is a San Francisco Bay Area muralist and portrait painter with her own faux finishing and design business. Before pursuing art full time Julie worked as a waitress, an anthropologist, an ESL teacher, and a family therapist. A California native, she graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a major in Latin American studies before earning Masters' Degrees in Anthropology and Social Welfare from the State University of New York at Albany. She has published several non-fiction articles on immigration, as well as one book-length translation, and has lived in Mexico, Spain, Italy, the Philippines, and France. As Juliet Blackwell, Julie writes the Witchcraft Mystery series and the Haunted Home Renovation series. She resides in Oakland, California, where she loves to paint and garden, and mostly fails at housework. Julie also sits on the boards of Northern California Sisters in Crime and Mystery Writers of America.
