Overview

John Ronald Reuel Tolkien was an English writer, poet, philologist and university professor, best known as the author of the high fantasy classic works The Hobbit and its sequel, The Lord Of The Rings. Their success has caused Tolkien to be popularly identified as the 'father' of modern fantasy literature.
Tolkien's devout faith was a significant factor in the conversion of C. S Lewis from atheism to Christianity
