About me: I'm a college professor by day and a voracious reader at nights/on weekends (if I don't fall asleep too early). I also enjoy traveling and spending time with family/friends/pets. I really enjoy creative activities of various sorts but rarely have the time. My major (reading) default: no plot memory. I can read a book but can't remember the details afterwards-- probably because I read very quickly. I have, at times, gotten halfway through a book before I realize I've already read it!
Regarding: ]Book Ratings: (5) absolutely loved this book; (4) memorable book, highly recommend; (3) enjoyable, pleasant read; (2) didn't enjoy this book; (1) hated this book (rare but it does happen). The ratings are completely subjective and change with genre-- a 5 for lit crit has very different criteria than a 5 for beach reads! Being an eclectic reader makes categorizing difficult! ]Shelves: Top "Ten": Indispensable favorites (the elite of the personal favorites tag), Wish List: Books I've seen on other shelves that look interesting, Reading List: TBR piles (one of which I'm currently reading), Shelf: Books I've read-- not all are still in my house! (Library, Frugal Reader, Office Shelf, Friends, etc., etc.) N.B. Any "children's" books on the list are those I've read as an adult. Unfortunately, only my virtual shelf is big enough to accommodate all my books!
PS I'm very busy right now so I'm declining all group invitations... I just don't have time to participate. Thanks for thinking of me, though.
