“I like many of Michener's books. This one attracted me as I grew up in Maryland and the Bay dominated life. Islands in the Bay are fascinating as they grow and shrink depending on hurricanes, rainfall, etc. Unlike most geological changes these can be rapid and occur in our lives rather than in eons. He captures this and the history of European settlers.”
