I just wanted to share with you that we cad our Sufi meditation class night. We are studying the Iron lows and we spent time discussing Murshid's 7 aspects of creativity. It was a blessed evening with visitors from other parts of America.
Hi Kabira and Aton,
I attended Green Herteticism at the Open Center in NYC last Saturday and was very happy to be in the presence of Pir Zia. He is a warm and illuminated being, I imagine like his grandfather. The conference was attended by about 50 people and there were three speakers, Pir Zia, Christopher Bamford and Peter Lamborn Wilson. They each spoke for about 90 minutes and there was a panel discussion at the end. There were two short (under 10 minutes) meditations.
I enjoyed the talks very much. You can read a lot of what they said in the book “Green Hermeticism: Alchemy and Ecology” by Wilson, Bamford and Townley, with an intro by Pir Zia.
I was hoping for more of the meditiation/retreat and less of the talking, though I did thoroughly enjoy the talks. I have a very scientific side that likes all that talky stuff but felt like there was something missing in the midst of all of the information being passed along. I still had a great day, bought the book and find myself a little further along on my spiritual path and adventure.
Toward the One,
