No, I haven't been able to watch "Little Dorrit" because of other engagements, but Dixie has been, and she thought it was wonderful. I think we must read it at AA.

We miss you at AA, Heloise. I see you're reading "Queen Lucia" -- one of my favourites! We just finished reading "Mapp and Lucia" at AA. I hope you'll come back amongst us again.

Hi, I looked up "Hitty" by Rachel Field, and the page it took me to said you had it on your shelf. I was surprised to see that a lot of people had read it because I thought it was one of the more "obscure" books. What did you think of it?

I'm all about pumpkin cannibalism. Sadly, I have no time to carve my pumpkins, so I'll remember this for next year.

    Hi,

No, I haven't read the Anne of Green Gables prequel. Have you, and, if so, what did you think of it? I wonder how close the writing style is to that of L. M. Montgomery?

I recorded Saratoga Trunk when it was on Turner Classic Movies, but I haven't watched it yet. I have a crush on Gary Cooper so I will just suffer through it. :o)

Pollyanna gets a little TOO sweet at times, but overall it's a good book. I even cried in a few spots, which is unusual for me. The 1960 Walt Disney adaptation is faithful to the book except for a few minor changes. It might be boring to you if you have seen the film often. I noticed that you have Saratoga Trunk as a favorite. I'm in the middle of reading it now. I think it's going to be a favorite for me also. I adore Edna Ferber. I read So Big in August and I'm looking forward to reading Giant.
