Some things I love: Creamy hot latte that tastes like dessert; robin's egg blue skies with big fluffy clouds; crossword puzzles hard enough to keep me guessing but not so hard I give up; a new season of "Lost" or "Heroes"; all the lights turning green and no one in my way; uninterrupted solitude; people who "get" me; exploring an unfamiliar book store; men in uniform; Shelfari, and of course READING READING READING!

Some things I hate: the word "hate"; sewing; willful ignorance; intolerance toward human diversity; materialism; slow drivers in the fast lane; that I must endure a lifetime of being a spirit stuck inside a "body"!; oh yeah ....and brussels sprouts.
If I have rated a book, I have read it, and am happy to share my opinion. If a book on my shelf isn't rated, I haven't gotten around to reading it yet but would love to get YOUR feedback on it!
As for my ratings, I give stars purely on the basis of how much I enjoyed it. Amanda Quick's books might be given the same number of stars as a truly brilliant author if my overall sense of satisfaction upon completion is the same for both books. Are they in the same league? Not even close! But my guilty pleasures can be just as satisfying as reading Austen sometimes!
I don't list my cookbooks, textbooks, reference books, technical manuals, how-to books, dictionaries, etc. unless I feel they are extraordinary in some way. I also don't list many of the books I have read for research, career, or school, unless I feel they're exceptional, or of general interest to others.
