Reading is an addiction for me. I read to escape, to learn, to dream, and to live.

I will give anything a try. I love excellent writing, deep characters, moral lessons, interesting storylines. I love falling in love with the characters and feeling like I know them personally. I love being surprised and being on the edge of my seat. I... more »

As always, this author is amazingly imaginative and I get sucked into his stories so quickly. I love the modern fairy tale twist.

Being a huge fan of Tracy Groot's other two novels, I'd say this is the weakest of the three. I loved the character of Nathanael and the relationship between Nathanael and James, but the tensions in the story were not strong enough to keep me captivated. It ended well, semi-strong, and touched me... but the story as a whole lacked the life that her other two novels have had.

By the time I got to this book in the series I am over this storyline. It's getting repetitive and boring. I don't think I'll continue with the series. Am I too picky?

Cheese. Predictable cheese. Don't think I'll read any more of this author. I gave one series a try and was not impressed.

Just as predictable as the initial book in the series. I don't even know why I am reading them. They are just filler books while I wait for the good ones. I guess these books make me appreciate the great ones that come along.

Run of the mill Christian fiction. Extremely predictable.

I love this author. Even though I enjoyed her book "Madman" better than this one, I was still captivated by this story. She does SUCH a wonderful job of creating characters that you can see and know in your mind. She doesn't gloss over personality, which adds to much depth to a story. It's wonderful.

I read this book in less than a day. This author is SO overlooked in Christian fiction. Wow. She really does her research and gets to the spirit of the scriptures. This book is based on the Gerasene demoniac and even though her story is fictional leading up to his deliverance, it is moving, touching, and shows the power of Jesus to heal! I loved it.

You know, for a classic, I think I was expecting so much more. It was really predictable, a little boring, but I really did get attached to the land and Wang Lung.
