I am from India, a television & AD Film director and full length bollywood feature films is the next stop.
Voracious reader, have my own library which has over 3000 books that I have read. On an average non working day (which is seldom and far in-between) I am found in bookshops buying my next reads (bulk buys).
Seldom I am without my book even in remote shoot locations.
I love a reader, I love conversations that elicits lots of information or guesses or next best guesses. One generates that from reading real good books. My favourite good books are those that left me irritated & Seeking more pages when it got over. There have been plenty of those moments in my life and I guess I will have many many of those in the future. I graduated from Enid Blyton, Hardy boys/nancy drew series in school, to the Ludlum's, Sheldon, James Hardley chase, Mario Puzo etc during college. At one point in life the bug of reading Wilbur Smith was so bad that I brought every book of his and read them all. Also I must add I loved every reading moment whislt reading him. Nowadays I am into a lot of Historical fiction, History, Ancient Indian classics etc.(which one will find by their tons, the only problem being that very few have been translated till date. Also some translations have more views of the translator rather than simple translation...) I guess History has been rubbed off on me by my mom. (well momma's boy...hmmm... now if I do not add my Momma.. my reading inspiration here.... I would be incomplete with my character assasination) Well she herself is a voracious reader and has a more impressive library In Hindi & Bengali books... she is a treasure house of knowledge.
I love Music, guess thats why I direct a lot of concerts and Bollywood dance shows... anyways Music favs are Heavy Metal, Pop (70's), Disco(80's) Classical Indian etc.... The POP is what rules my heart. At work I always have tendency to tell my team the best way to know me is by listening to the song "eye in the sky" Alan Parsons Project.... Yep I sound Pompous, but again I indulge in this Chest-blowing competition. (very masculine trait - Ladies try and forgive me if possible but knowing ladies they cannot forget, cannot stop telling it to their similar gender friends and somehow we dumb guys misinterpret the whole excersise as COMPLANING) It's important as I need none as competition but as a competent work mate.... *GRIN*
Anyways I am open to suggestions on what to read in the Historical Fiction category... if it' on ancient Rome/Greece/Egypt then I am your slave.
Have a great day friend.
