Being French myself, I would probably be able to relate to Foucault's speech. I have recently listened to a radio talk show about May 68 in France (which happened after Foucault wrote The Order of Things) and they largely discussed the issues Foucault mentions.I have always tried to read the books in the author's original chosen language. Of course, at times this is impossible (Dostoevsky, Pamuk etc make it very difficult), but I will definitively read Foucault's Les Mots et Les Choses in French!Thank you for your quick answer and explanations!
Hi there! Life of Pi was a very interesting find! Pi's journey from Pondichery to Canada, and all the peripeties that the character encounters are very refreshing! The book is very easy to read (I read it in three days), although the purpose of the book itself is quite difficult to grasp... it is quite confusing to understand who is the narrator, who is Pi, how do the other characters relate to the main character... Please, do read it and tell me about it!
