Hi! I wanted to recommend a book that I just read, but I should have known that you would have already read it. I just finished Little Bee and absolutely loved it. I am going to have to pass it on to Mom. Hope you all are having a great summer! Love - A

Hi Lisa - Just read Apologize Apologize......ended up being a good read I'd give it 3*'s. It didn't endear itself to me right away but 2nd half was very worthwhile. You have plenty on your list to keep you busy!

    Lisa,

I just finished reading Neferti by Michelle Moran. Very well written. I think you would like it. It's actually on Target's recommended books list, too.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all too! I loved The Help and even passed it on to Mom. I will definitely check out Same Kind of Different than Me. Right now, I am reading The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo for this month's book club selection. - A

have you read: A year on Ladybug Farm by Donna Ball? I didn't see it on your shelf but didn't think you've posted everything. Ready for a lunch now that the kids are back in school? You know there's still no book sale chair?!

When I need a new book, I've been looking at your shelf for ideas! Hope you don't mind :) How do I see your reviews? I see your star rating but when I look for reviews I get lots of random posts from anyone whose read it. Since we have similar tastes I'd like to see only your review. Hope your summer is going well. It's passing too fast for me!

Hi, I did enjoy Not Becoming My MOther. I thought it was very sweet. You can read it in a few hours and I was touched by how the author did not know why her mother was the way she was until she was dead. It just struck a chord with me. My mother's mother also had bi-polar and I always find this topic interesting.

Just remembered a book I read prior to going on a family trip to Chicago "The Devil in the white City". It had been on my bedside for like a year and I couldn't get to it. So, in honor of going to Chicago for a long weekend w/ hubby and kids I decided to get in the Chicago frame of mind by reading it. It was a intriquing book because, again, it was historic fiction (or maybe not even fiction because it was all real) that really gave you a feel for the color of that town before, during after the World's Fair being held there. A real focus on architects at the time and some good gritty crime too. I read Loving Frank a year or so later, somehow I lump them into some related genre.

Thanks for the note and good to hear from you! I read 'Loving Frank' a couple months ago. It appealed to me because I have in interest in Chicago's history related to architecture (from the World's Fair to the great fire and the re-building). Frank Lloyd Wright fits into this and 'Loving Frank' is one of those historic fiction books that was just a piece in the puzzle adding a little color. I did think it was well done. Doesn't it make you wonder how an author can manage to get the story out between having to have researched the volume of info for this book? It was illuminating, although I wanted to wring both their necks at points in the book.

I see you have 'A Gift From the Sea' . Did you read it yet? I am still trying to understand how this site is set up. All wives/mothers could get something from that book. Good perspective. I'd read it a second time.

Thanks for your note. I did look at your shelf and there were so many to choose from so I didn't know if a particular booked jumped out as a recommendation. I'll look at your higher ratings....
