I work with several Islamic and non-Islamic thinkers, universities, institutes, scholars, organizations and scientists to study the Qur'an, Islamic theology, comparative religion, relationship science & religion, and human development. I write and lecture about these subjects from an Islamic & scientific perspective.
My academic studies include Biochemistry (Leiden college), Theology&Systematic Theology (university of Utrecht) and am currently studying Islamic Theology&Religious sciences (Leiden university), which I want to expand with studies in Hermeneutics and Philosophy of Religion&Science.
CEO and of DRC Islamic Think tank. This organization serves as a think tank to research mankind's development and to seek answers in science, philosophy and theology for many problems and obstacles which mankind encounters in their evolution. It's main focus is to pursue inclusive theology, human rights, justice and democracy from an Islamic perspective, and research the Qur'an and Islamic religion on its theologies, philosophies and cosmologies.
DRC is leading a groundbreaking project, the Islamic Human Rights Project (IHRP), in which we are formulating a new Islamic declaration of Human Rights, based on the Qur'anic ideals of peace, freedom, human equality and impartial justice. The project and declaration is created by outstanding Islamic scholars, including several DRC researchers, and will be part of a worldwide campaign to create awareness of human rights across the world.
Editor of Nieuwemoskee (Newmosque), a leading Dutch Islamic platform which discusses present issues and ideas on Islam, Muslim culture and multicultural society from a critical professional and academic perspective.
Ambassador for the Charter for Compassion in The Netherlands. The charter promotes the Golden Rule, which is the basis of almost all religions and philosophies, to achieve a more compassionate world.
