I love all kinds of books, especially SciFi/Fantasy. This list of course is not all of the books I have read. Over the years I have moved many times and lost many books. However this list is of books I can not live without. Some of these books I have read many times especially Gordon Merrick, Maya Angelou and Thoureau.

A good friend lent me this book, and to be honest I didn't love it. It's really three short stories with a common thread. I found the first short story hard to believe in but was intrigued by the family dynamic. The second story focuses on the eldest son and even though I found the character interesting, I was distracted by the author's sense of time. She has constructed a character that is living 10 years ahead of time. The third story pulls the two character I liked the least from the first and second stories 'the love interests' into a lame conclusion. Fern the flighty girl from the first story is the star of this book and well she is as annoying now as she was in book one. I actually regretted reading the end, felt better after book two.

Well written, a nice bit of history and mythology is packed into this book. I found it a quick read, and suspect that it one of those type of series that should have just been written as one book.

Great book! Lyra's adventure kept me interested from start to finish. I can't wait to find out what happens next. If your thinking of buying this book you should buy the whole series.

Our favorite characters have grown up. What an amazing way to say goodbye to these three amazingly diverse guys!

Alex Sanchez captures what it like to be a teen. This coming of age story is well crafted.

I read this novel years ago when I was a little kid with my mother and little brother. This novel is why I am a SciFi/Fantasy lover! Terry Brooks crafts and interesting story that will find the reader enthralled. I love the Magic Kingdom and come back to it from time to time, it reminds me of the good times in my childhood.

  • Perfect Freedom

Robbie Cosling is my favorite Merrick character. The Coslings my favorite Merrick family! "Perfect Freedom" is so well written and takes us down such a complete path of discovery. We first meet Robbie and his family when Robbie is too young to understand sexuality. We watch him grow and find himself. Unlike Merrick's other characters Robbie is GAY! Not Bi-Sexual and has no need to explore the other sex. His innocence is refreshing, his beauty disarming, you can't help but fall in love with this boy who in the end becomes a man. His parents the Coslings are also important characters and its nice to see a real family in Merrick's world for a change.

  • Forth into Light: A Novel (Peter & Charlie Trilogy)
    • Rated 5 stars

This is the last in the Peter and Charlie series. I have to admit I like this novel the least in the series. We find Peter, Charlie and Martha living the domesticated life. This novel is the only mystery I've ever read of Merrick's, and as mysteries go its great. I love Peter and Charlie, and like seeing them all grown up. Peter's growth is especially comforting since I identify with him the most.

  • One for the Gods: A Novel (Peter & Charlie Trilogy) (One for the Gods)
    • Rated 5 stars

This is the sequel to "The Lord Won't Mind", we find Peter and Charlie a little further along on their journey. Again Merrick crafts a spellbinding sexually charged story where characters we are already familiar with start fighting their own demons. Their journey to self discovery takes twists and turns that only individuals with no sexual hang ups can embrace. The first time I read this Novel I found myself amazed at what life may have to offer.

  • The Lord Won't Mind (Peter & Charlie Trilogy) (Peter & Charlie Series)

What can I say about Gordon Merrick that has not already been said. He is my all time favorite author. As a gay male Merrick had given me real relationships to aspire to. The Lord Won't Mind is the first in the Peter and Charlie trilogies. Merrick expertly pulls the reader into their sexually charged world. This book is not for the prudes, Merrick likes to talk about cock, and his descriptions of sex taught me what to do in bed.
