Carol grew up in Louisville, KY, home of the Kentucky Derby and the University of Louisville. She majored in English at Murray State University in Murray, Ky. Before finishing her education, Carol took time to get married and start a family. Her family was complete with a husband and four children: two boys and two girls. And a great large Labrador Retriever named Molly.
The family moved to Kenosha, WI in 1974 and stayed there for six years before returning to the warmer climes of Kentucky. They settled in a beautiful rural area in western Kentucky, where Carol and her husband Perry live, along with two Jack Russell terriers and four cats.
In 1988 Carol graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College with a nursing degree. She continued to raise her family, work as nursing supervisor on a busy cardiac unit, and only occasionally find time to write. She wrote short stories, poems, worked on her memoir and read voraciously.
Carol retired from nursing in 2007 and began working with a tutor to polish her writing skills. She was fortunate to have a retired English instructor to teach her and edit her writings for six months. After having several pieces of short fiction published on-line, she decided to tackle a novel. Her debut novel: Beloved Destiny, a historical romance set in Natchez in the 1830's was completed in only four months and was published as an ebook on Kindle Direct Publishing in February 2011. She is currently working on a second novel set in 14th century England.
Carol's other interests are: antiquing, music, theatre, travel, gardening, and of course, reading.
Carol is also the author of "Play Date", "In the Place of Sun Dogs", and "The Old Man's Tale", all published on Microhorror.com
She is also the author of "Existential Snare" published on Everyday Fiction.
