Hi apeerao
I loved 'Abandon' by Pico Iyer. Especially because it combined a lot of topics that I like very much. I love the poetry of Rumi and the Persian culture, so the story for me is really fascinating. I also loved his writing.
Enjoy it!
Hooray for people who actually use grammar!
Welcome to the group based on the book 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die. There is a general explanation of the group under guidelines and the book(s) of the month that the group is reading are pinned to the top. I hope you will be able to enjoy the group and perhaps join in one or more of the monthly reads. We pick our next books about midmonth. Our books for January are posted to give you time to locate the books. We are reading Lady Chatterley's Lovers by DH Lawrence and The Spy Who Came in From the Cold by John Le Carre in January 2010.

You could try Stephen Leacock. Very funny. Since he's out of copyright, you can find his work available as free downloads. Try him out, I think you would enjoy his pieces.

Three Men in a Boat is one book I've reread a couple of times. Could never lay my hands on Three Men on a Bummel. Have you read that?
