Ramblings of fringe artists and musicians who don't have much to say.

This guy tries to cram as many big words into 50-word sentences as possible. It is frustrating to read, even with the help of the internet for some of the dated language. I got about 2/3rds of the way through and gave up. I understand the main ideas, and they aren't that great; he certainly tries to make them sound great though with those rediculous sentences.

I'm not sure really what to say about this book, other than I couldn't stop reading it, especially after about two hundred pages or so. I already knew civilization was/is destroying everything in it's path before reading this book. Now I am better informed.

I'm not quite done with this one. Prepare to be shocked!
This should be essential reading for college students!
I would suggest keeping lots of notes or you won't remember many of the details.

Totally worth your time. Easy to read, and just may change your worldview a little. Four stars because many times I lost track of who was speaking -- even though that is probably moreso my reading ability.

    One big fascinating nightmare!
I wish I hadn't read reviews of this book before reading it, as they give away the plot.

This book can be appreciated by a wide audience, especially those looking for meaning in life. The main character spends most of his life striving to find peace, showing us his many failures along the way.

Short, but entertaining look at the way in which prisoners overcome the rules placed on them by inventing things out of common objects. Weapons and drug use are not covered. Custom made air conditioning vent covers, picture frames, coat hangers, and dangerous cigarette lighters using electrical outlets are a few examples.

This book is a great companion to anyone looking to do strength training. While it is outdated in many respects, it is still an incredible resource (for the 5$ I paid for it). The bulk of the book's 700+ pages consists of detailed guides to specific exercises. This info can be found on the web at sites like http://www.exrx.net/ . Of course, there is nothing like having a book to turn to for proper form, and then on the next page seeing an old black and white photo of Arnold benching over 400lbs!
Newer versions of the book probably contain better training advice, but I haven't seen them.
